Hazelnuts

Hazelnut grain is obtained by grinding raw shelled hazelnuts in grains, after peeling and toasting them. They come in a light tan color due to the toasting.

These are mainly used in the confectory industry because of their unique taste. Toasted Hazelnuts can be used for making desserts, ice cream, nougat and confectionery in general. Furthermore they can be used to garnish desserts and they can even be combined with salty foods.

The grain is rich in polyunsaturates ( omega 3 and omega 6) that help lowering blood cholesterol and it also contains fibers and a high quantity of vitamins ( E, B6, Folates and Thiamine) and mineral salts (Copper, Iron, Manganese, Calcium).
