Dried Walnuts – A TYPE of Sorrento, are the seeds contained in the drupes of the walnut tree (Juglans Regia). Sorrento Walnuts are the finest type of Italian walnuts, they come from the Sorrento Peninsula.
The kernel can be consumed both fresh or dried. When they get dried out, they are cut and intended for the confectionery industry (both for garnishing and making desserts). Moreover Sorrento Walnuts are most appreciated in cooking, in various recipes and even for liquors.
Walnuts are rich in mono-unsaturates, such as Omega 3 and Omega 6, well known for controlling the trygliceride levels, and blood cholesterol. As for their micronutrient content, they are rich in minerals -such as Phosphorus, Potassium, Magnesium, Calcium, Iron and Sulfur – and in vitamins – such as B1, B2, B6 and E.
